Welcome! I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Political Science at Texas A&M University.

My research lies in the field of Comparative Politics with an emphasis on the causes and consequences of marginalized groups’ representation in East Asia and across the globe.

My dissertation explores three factors that may limit substantive representation of marginalized groups once those groups obtain descriptive representation in the legislature: (1) male legislators’ attitudes toward women’s issues, (2) discrimination against women elected via quotas in resource allocation inside Congress, and (3) translations of public opinion toward sexual minorities into legislation depending upon electoral systems.
