Welcome! I am a Visiting Assistant Professor of Political Science at University of Texas at Dallas.

My research lies in the field of Comparative Politics with an emphasis on the causes and consequences of marginalized groups’ representation in East Asia and across the globe.

My dissertation explores three factors that may limit substantive representation of marginalized groups once those groups obtain descriptive representation in the legislature: (1) the majorities' attitudes toward historically underrepresented groups' interests; (2) the discriminatory distribution of legislative resources to legislators elected via quotas; and (3) legislators' responsiveness to public opinion regarding a minority group and the saliency of their issues, especially when the group is controversial in society.
